Our organisation is committed to fostering creativity, diversity, and inclusion in art education, with a specific focus on engaging with local communities, school pupils, and teachers. The program we are running involves discussions on vital themes such as diaspora, identity, and representation in public spaces. We use a unique approach, incorporating puppeteering and a traveling show to captivate our audiences.
Our innovative projects include photography and poetry workshops, a public exhibition, a podcast series, and the creation of a Hackney Windrush website to provide valuable learning resources and activities. We also use puppets and dance as tools to facilitate transitions and engage young people in storytelling and creative expression.
Our primary aim is to make art education accessible to all and improve the health and wellbeing of our community through creative means. By using puppets, we aim to bring culture to the forefront, highlighting black cultures and communicating important aspects of history, food, and communication.
We believe that our work aligns well with your foundation's goals of broadening access to art education and promoting innovative approaches in the visual arts. By centering teachers within creative approaches to art education, we can empower educators and inspire young minds.
